If you’ve had fire damage on your property, it can feel as though your home will never look the same. If the damage is not addressed appropriately, the reality is that lingering aspects like smoke, soot and odors can continue to wreak havoc on your property if you don’t act fast. As well as health problems that can arise from inattention to these factors, secondary damage could occur to the property with soot for example having the ability to stain plastic yellow, and marble or other porous materials could be discolored.
You need to call a trained professional as soon as you can to begin the work, as damage can be done in a very short period of time.
We have been in business since 1999, and have extensive experience restoring your home, while staying on budget.
Most people confuse soot and smoke – where smoke is what you smell and see during a fire, soot is the solid form that smoke takes and clings to your household items. Soot can be either oily or dry and needs different approaches to clean properly. We know the difference and are certified to restore your property and belongings to as close to their original form as is possible.
Removing Oily Soot
As you would imagine by the name, oily soot is greasy and therefore needs a degreasing agent in the first step of removal. Cleaning it without the proper products could result in simply smearing the soot around due to the oil at the base of the issue.
Removing dry soot
Dry soot is theoretically a little easier, though not any less messy. The best tools are specialized dry sponges, which our professionals are very experienced with. The trick is in cleaning the area without damaging anything around it, and we’ve honed that skill.
Not all fires are just fires, and there are many different kinds of blazes, just as there are many different ways to tackle a restoration project. Unfortunately, sometimes properties simply can’t be returned to their original state, depending on how much fire and damage ripped through the area, but it’s our job at Rainbow International to assess that, and provide all the information and expertise necessary to get the job done right.
We can scrub and scrub an area to get rid of the visual elements that remain after fire damage, but odors can be another issue entirely. Rainbow International guarantees arriving with all the tools, knowledge and equipment needed to remove those odors for good.
The techniques we use to remove those odors will depend on factors such as the strength and type of smell present in the property. We use a system that breaks apart the molecular structure of the odor using ion technology, allowing the odor to completely dissipate and be eliminated at the original source. We don’t want to mask the odor like some of our inexperienced competitors will, we want to get it right the first time.
Technicians at Rainbow International keep up-to-date with tools and technologies on the market in our industry to provide you the safest and most efficient restoration possible.
Though many odors left after fires are smoke-related, we can take on any type of odor present on your property. Strong animal presence and bio-hazardous conditions are just some of the other projects we’ve tackled, and with over 30 years of experience in our field, you can bank on the fact we’ve seen and restored just about anything you can think of.
